Question about yellow leaves on a Chinese Elm Bonsai

This is a question we have recieved today from Ji Kaur:

Hi, I've got a Chinese elm bonsai (please see the image), but the leaves have started to turn yellow. I feed it once a week but water it when needed. Could you please help me with this. Thank you.

I have a bonsai, it looks identical to yours, I'm trying to identify its species at the moment (how I came across your problem). Mine started turning yellow a few months ago and I was really worried, however after a few weeks it started regrowing leaves and is better then ever now. I don't know for certain if this is the case with yours but with mine it seems its just a phase it goes through to renew its leaves. Hope it turns out fine!

You are correct - seasonal changes are very normal.
