The bonsai you receive may have a quirky trunk line, a bold root flare, or an unconventional branch structure.
✨ You’ll Receive:
-
Two beautifully healthy 8-year-old bonsai trees
-
Stylish ceramic pots with optional drip trays
-
A care leaflet to help you on your bonsai journey
“These two trees have beautifully expressive shapes that don’t quite follow the usual bonsai rules – and that’s exactly why they’re so special. A little less “refined” in form, but no less full of life, potential and personality. They’ve got stories to tell and are perfect for anyone who loves a tree with character. A bit like wonky fruit, still extremely tasty, just not so “perfect” looking.”

Two Indoor Bonsai with Year-Round Interest
The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia) is one of the most popular indoor bonsai species. It develops fine twiggy branching and small leaves that create a lively canopy. As it grows, and you prune it, the foliage pads produce beautiful ramification that gives the bonsai a natural and balanced appearance.
Alongside it, the Fukien Tea Tree (Carmona microphylla) adds a completely different character. This indoor bonsai features glossy green leaves and delicate white flowers that appear during the warmer months. Together, these two species create a lovely contrast of foliage, texture, and seasonal interest.

This cheap bonsai tree set includes two individual 8-year-old indoor bonsai trees: a Chinese Elm and a flowering Fukien Tea Tree. Each tree arrives planted in its own ceramic bonsai pot and includes a free care leaflet to help you get started. Drip trays are not included as standard with this set, but you can add one separately if required – choose between plastic (small size) or ceramic (standard size).
These trees are part of our “Perfectly Imperfect” range, which means the styling may be less traditional. You may see unusual trunk lines, interesting root flare, or unconventional branch placement. Because all bonsai are individual, variation should be expected.
Why Cheap Bonsai Trees Can Still Be Special
Cheap bonsai trees do not need to lack character or quality. In fact, many enthusiasts enjoy working with trees that have unique structure or unexpected shapes.
These bonsai offer a chance to learn, experiment, and gradually refine the tree over time. As you prune and shape the canopy, the bonsai continues to develop and improve with each growing season.

Bonsai Variety
The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parviflolia) makes a truly beautiful bonsai with small bright green leaves. The tree has excellent twig structure and has great character throughout, making it the perfect representation of a woodland tree. In our opinion the Chinese Elm is the most perfectly proportioned, easy to care for and adaptable tree and makes a superb bonsai; which can be grown either indoors or outdoors.
The Oriental Tea Tree (Carmona microphylla) is a simple & elegant bonsai ideal for growing indoors. This bonsai has pretty white flowers during summer months & lovely green, shiny & waxy foliage. The leaves are unusually shaped & well proportioned. The leaves grow in neat clusters allowing the flowers and branch structure to be highly visible. A highly appealing & artistic bonsai.
