Care FAQ’s
Are bonsai difficult to care for?
No, Bonsai are not difficult to care for. They must be checked daily so that they do not dry out and provided that they are kept in the correct position they should thrive.
Full care instructions are provided with every bonsai.
How often should I water my bonsai?
Bonsai should be checked daily for water. If the soil is damp to the touch leave it and check it a few hours later. When the soil feels barely damp then water thoroughly, from above, until water runs through the drainage holes. For more information please CLICK HERE
How do I feed my bonsai?
We recommend feeding your indoor bonsai weekly with Bonsai Direct Fertiliser. Outdoor bonsai should be fed weekly during spring, summer, and autumn (March to October). For more information please CLICK HERE
How long can I leave the bonsai in the box?
All bonsai are soaked prior to dispatch to ensure that the do not dry out during transit. In our experience, this means they should be fine in the box for 2-3 days, on average, after delivery. Some varieties do differ.
Where should I put my bonsai?
You should place indoor bonsai in a bright position with good daylight. Please ensure that it is not in direct sun or in a hot position ie. keep away for televisions and radiators.
