About Bonsai Direct
We aim to deliver the best possible customer experience and we therefore adhere to all current and proposed legislation in addition to trade body guidelines. The conditions detailed below do not affect your statutory rights. These include all of the current guidelines relating to the information that we hold about you and, in order to clarify this, we have a published Privacy Statement.
All items are subject to availability. We will inform you as soon as possible if the goods you have ordered are not available. Products and packaging are subject to change or substitution without prior notice. Every effort will be made to despatch the items specified. However in the event of supply difficulties with any items we will email you with the option either to cancel your order or, having told you when we can fulfil it, to wait for item to become available.
We can include a personalised message with any gift.
We reserve the right to reject any message sent by us on your behalf to a third party that we consider may offend the recipient for defamatory, racist, offensive, harassing, threatening, vulgar, abusive, indecent, obscene, menacing or in breach of confidence, copyright or any other legal rights, or which may cause embarrassment or distress to any person or is otherwise unlawful or objectionable.
You are entirely responsible for any text or other material that you post or send on this message system and we accept no liability for any such content.
Methods of Payment
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Switch and Delta. If you are paying by Switch you will also need to include the card issue number or start date. If you order off-line you may also pay by cheque. Please make cheques payable to Bonsai Direct and write your name and address on the back of the cheque. Cheque orders will not be processed until payment has been cleared.
All orders are positively credit card sanctioned prior to dispatch, so please ensure that the details you provide us with are correct. We cannot accept responsibility for an order being held back as a result of incorrect or invalid payment details being given.
In the unlikely event that your payment card is used fraudulently to make a purchase with Bonsai Direct you, the consumer, are entitled to cancel the said payment(s). If payment has already been made, you, the customer, are entitled, in accordance with the standing Consumer Protection Distance Selling Regulation (2000), to a re-credit or to have all sums returned to you by the card issuer.
Cancelling your Order
We operate a policy for cancellation to allow you a cooling off period after placing your order. In accordance with the Distance Selling Directive (2000) you may cancel your order at any time without reason within 7 working days of delivery.
You may cancel your order for any reason provided: -
You or the recipient notify us of your cancellation in writing/ e-mail to the address on our
page within seven working days of delivery. However, to avoid damage to bonsai it helps us to know within 24 hours if you wish to return an item.
The goods remain unused and component parts are unopened. You or the recipient retain and take reasonable care of the goods until returned. Please be careful to look after any bonsai you want to return, regular watering and storage in natural day light are essential.
You return packaged item(s) to Returns at Bonsai Direct to the address on the
page. Please return your goods in the packaging used to deliver your goods wherever possible.
Please be aware that you will be liable for any postage/carrier costs incurred as a result of returning items to Bonsai Direct and you should ensure that you obtain proof of postage as you send it back. A refund can only be provided for items received back by us. If you request a collection the cost of collection will be deducted from your refund.
Claims for breakages or other damage must be made to Bonsai Direct in writing or by email within three days of receipt.
Please advise us of any other order issues within 28 days of dispatch. We are unfortunately unable to offer refunds on orders if we have not been notified within this time period.
Every care has been taken to describe items as accurately as possible; however slight variations may occur due to the individual nature of some of the goods. Seasonal variation should be expected. Bonsai trees are living things and will change throughout the seasons.
Prices are subject to alteration without notice. Should a product not be available a substitute of a similar product of equal or greater value will be made.
This website, any content contained herein and any contract brought into being as a result of usage of this website shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England. The parties to any such contract agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. All contracts are concluded in English.
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your Statutory Rights. Errors and omissions excepted.

Unless otherwise specified, the materials on this website are directed solely at those who access this website from the United Kingdom mainland. Those who choose to access this site from other locations are responsible for compliance with local laws if, and to the extent, local laws are applicable.
At this point the contract for our sale and your purchase of the goods shall be made and the contract shall be formed at the place from which our acceptance email is sent to you.

However, we cannot guarantee that your use of this website or any websites accessible through it won't cause damage to your computer. It is your responsibility to ensure that the right equipment is available to use the website and screen out anything that may damage it. Bonsai Direct shall not be liable to any person for any loss or damage which may arise to computer equipment as a result of using this website.

We are committed to growing and selling bonsai to the highest standards. Ensuring that our bonsai and accessories arrive at your home/work (or gift address) in the same condition as they leave our nursery is of up most importance. All our bonsai leave our nursery in excellent condition and we work closely with our couriers to ensure that they are received as perfectly as they were dispatched.
The delivery charges stated below are for the UK mainland only, per delivery address.

It is possible for you to specify a delivery date and we will endeavour to meet this date.
Scottish Highlands, Scottish Islands, the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland, The Scilly Isles, The Isle of Man and the Isle of Wight are all considered by our couriers as international locations and we therefore send via first class Royal Mail to these destinations. There is a delivery surcharge of £9.99 to these areas of the UK. Please select this option under shipping methods. Thank you.
Deliveries to the Republic of Ireland are made via courier (48 hour service). The delivery charge to this area is £14.99.
Please note that deliveries will be made on normal working days, Monday to Friday, and will usually occur between 8.00 am and 6.00 p.m. Delivery on Saturday cannot be guaranteed and will incur a surcharge; please contact us for details.
Whenever possible, goods will be dispatched by first class post or overnight courier within 5 working days. It is possible for you to specify a delivery date and we will endeavour to meet this date. Unfortunately, this cannot be guaranteed as we use independent couriers and first class post. Some deliveries require a signature.
If there is nobody in to accept the delivery a card will be left to inform the recipient how he or she can collect the parcel or arrange re-delivery. It then becomes the recipients' responsibility to contact the courier and arrange a suitable delivery date. We accept no liability if the delivery is not made due to the recipient not being available. If the recipient fails to contact the courier in good time the goods will be returned to us and a charge will be made for re-delivery to that or an alternative address. We therefore recommend sending your order to a work address if appropriate.
It is possible for you to provide us with instructions as to where to leave your delivery if there is no one in to accept it. E.g. In the shed or with a neighbour. Instructions can be left when placing your order.
In the event that you select a business address we shall be deemed to have delivered the to its intended recipient by delivering it to the reception area of the business address and receiving from a duly authorised representative a signed receipt of delivery.
We will deliver to the address as you enter it and can not accept any liability for late or failed delivery if the quoted address is incorrect. Additional charges will be made for redirection or for re-delivery due to postcode error. We advise that if you are not sure of the address you should check it using the Post Office postcode and address finding service. We are unable to accept orders for delivery to any address containing a PO Box Number.
We regret that Bonsai cannot be dispatched internationally. We are currently only able to deliver bonsai within the UK.
