Mother’s Day Gifts | Chinese Elm Bonsai Gift Set for Mum
A Mother’s Day Gift That Grows with Meaning
If you are searching for Mother’s Day gifts that feel thoughtful, lasting, and a little different, this Chinese Elm bonsai is an excellent choice. Carefully grown for twelve years, it offers maturity, character, and calm presence in one beautiful living gift. As a result, it feels far more personal than flowers alone.
This Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia, also known as Zelkova) features a gracefully twisted trunk with textured bark and a full canopy of rich green, serrated leaves. We pot the bonsai in a navy blue ceramic pot and include a dark-coloured drip tray to protect surfaces and keep care simple.
A Complete Gift Set, Ready to Enjoy
To make gifting effortless, this Mother’s Day bonsai arrives as a complete set. We include bonsai fertiliser and pruning scissors to support healthy growth and gentle shaping. A premium watering can is also included, with your choice of colour to personalise the gift.
A heart-shaped “Happy Mother’s Day” foil balloon adds a celebratory finishing touch. Every bonsai also includes a care sheet, which explains aspects of caring for this bonsai as well as other beneficial information.
Symbolism That Makes It Special
The Chinese Elm symbolises inner strength, intuition, wisdom, and love. For that reason, it works beautifully as a Mother’s Day gift that carries meaning as well as beauty. Over time, the bonsai becomes a living reminder of appreciation and care.
Please note: Each bonsai is individually grown and shaped, so the exact form, branching, and character of your tree may vary slightly from the images shown.

Bonsai Variety
The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parviflolia) makes a truly beautiful bonsai with small bright green leaves. The tree has excellent twig structure and has great character throughout, making it the perfect representation of a woodland tree. In our opinion the Chinese Elm is the most perfectly proportioned, easy to care for and adaptable tree and makes a superb bonsai; which can be grown either indoors or outdoors.
