Remember, the frequency of repotting varies based on the species and its growth rate. To give you an example, a slow growing Fukien Tea Tree will need repotting less frequently than a fast growing Chinese Elm. Also, the older the bonsai, the less it will require repotting. Younger bonsai tend to grow faster therefore they will need repotting more frequently.
