If you’re searching for thoughtful new home gift ideas that feel lasting and personal, this mature Chinese Elm bonsai is a beautiful choice. Unlike flowers or temporary décor, this living tree continues to grow and develop, becoming part of their new space for years to come.
Carefully curated by our family-run nursery, this complete gift set combines an expertly styled bonsai with essential accessories and guidance — making it both impressive and practical from day one.
The Centrepiece: A Mature 12-Year-Old Chinese Elm
At the heart of this set is a stunning 12-year-old Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia), hand-trained to develop a graceful twisty trunk and fine twiggy branching. Its balanced structure and naturally small leaves create an instant focal point in any room.
The Chinese Elm is one of the most forgiving and rewarding bonsai species. It responds well to pruning, adapts comfortably to indoor or outdoor environments, and is hardy. This gift is ideal whether the recipient is new to bonsai, or wants to expand their collection.
We pot these bonsai into in a classic blue glazed ceramic pot for a timeless, elegant finish.

Bonsai Variety
The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parvifolia) makes a truly beautiful bonsai with small bright green leaves. The tree has excellent twig structure and has great character throughout, making it the perfect representation of a woodland tree. In our opinion the Chinese Elm is the most perfectly proportioned, easy to care for and adaptable tree and makes a superb bonsai; which can be grown either indoors or outdoors.
