Easter Gift Ideas – 12 Year Old Chinese Elm Bonsai Tree
A Unique Easter Gift That Lasts
Looking for Easter gift ideas beyond chocolate eggs? Choose a living tree that grows stronger year after year. Our 12 year old Chinese Elm bonsai delivers lasting beauty, meaning, and impact — all presented with a wooden “Happy Easter” hanging tag, ready to gift.
Instead of something that disappears in days, give a bonsai that becomes part of the home. It arrives in a mid-blue ceramic rectangular pot, creating a refined and elegant spring display from the moment it is unboxed.
About the Chinese Elm – Ulmus parvifolia
The Chinese Elm, Ulmus parvifolia, is widely regarded as one of the best bonsai species for beginners. It features small evergreen miniature leaves and a strong, flowing S-shaped trunk that mirrors the form of a mature woodland tree in nature.
This mid-sized bonsai fits perfectly on a windowsill, desk, or coffee table. Because of its natural proportions and graceful trunk movement, it offers one of the most authentic miniature representations of a full-sized forest tree.
In addition, this variety symbolises inner strength, intuition, wisdom, and love — making it especially meaningful as an Easter gift that celebrates renewal and growth.
Please note: During mid-winter, the tree may not be in full leaf as it would be in spring and summer, although it will still carry healthy foliage.
Easy to Care For – Ideal for Beginners
The Chinese Elm is resilient and forgiving, which makes it ideal for first-time bonsai owners. Position it in a bright spot and water carefully to keep the soil evenly moist but not waterlogged.
We include a detailed care instruction guide with every bonsai. This guide explains watering, positioning, maintenance, and the symbolism of the species so you can care for your tree with confidence from day one.
For optimal health and lush foliage, we recommend feeding with bonsai fertiliser. Our Bonsai Care Kit includes feed, pruning scissors, and a practical care handbook — an excellent addition for beginners who want the essential tools in one set. You can add this at a reduced price once you add the bonsai to the basket.
Presentation and Optional Extras
Your bonsai arrives potted in a glazed mid-blue ceramic container for a clean, contemporary finish. You can enhance your Easter gift further by adding:
-
Gift wrap
-
Balloons
-
Personalised hanging tags
Simply select your extras after adding the bonsai to your basket.
If you would like to add a humidity tray, please select this from the drop down option.
