Description
Sageretia Bonsai Tree | Sweet Plum Bonsai with Rich Foliage and Artistic Styling
This beautiful 8-year-old Sageretia theezans bonsai tree, commonly known as the Sweet Plum Bonsai, combines elegant styling, vibrant foliage and wonderful character. Furthermore, this is the exact bonsai tree you will receive.
Our expert growers have carefully nurtured and styled this premium specimen over many years. As a result, it displays excellent balance, movement and maturity. The trunk begins with an elegant curve at the base before flowing upwards through a series of gentle twists. Meanwhile, attractive surface roots emerge naturally from the soil, adding age, stability and artistic interest.
The bark is another standout feature. Not only does it display attractive red-brown tones, but it also develops texture and character that enhance the impression of maturity. In contrast, the glossy foliage creates a fresh and vibrant canopy above.
Rich Foliage and Seasonal Colour
One of the most appealing features of the Sageretia Bonsai Tree is its beautiful foliage. Throughout the year, the tree remains evergreen. Consequently, it provides colour and interest during every season.
New growth emerges with attractive bronze and reddish tones. Then, as the leaves mature, they deepen into rich glossy green. Therefore, the tree constantly offers subtle colour variation and visual interest.
The canopy has been carefully refined to create a natural yet elegant silhouette. Moreover, the fine branching structure adds depth and sophistication to the overall design.
As the tree continues to mature, it may produce tiny white flowers. These are often followed by attractive purple fruits. Consequently, mature specimens can offer even greater seasonal interest and charm.
Distinctive Styling and Natural Character
Our growers have shaped this bonsai to achieve both strength and harmony. The flowing trunk movement creates a strong focal point. Meanwhile, the balanced branch structure provides softness and refinement.
Every element works together naturally. As a result, the tree feels both artistic and authentic.
Furthermore, the compact proportions make it easy to display in a variety of indoor settings. Whether placed in a living room, office or conservatory, this Sweet Plum Bonsai attracts attention without overwhelming its surroundings.
Elegant Presentation
To complement the tree, we have paired it with a brand-new silvery green ceramic bonsai pot and matching drip tray.
The soft glaze beautifully complements both the bark and foliage. At the same time, the lighter tones create a striking contrast that enhances the overall presentation.
About Sageretia theezans
The Sweet Plum Bonsai remains one of the most rewarding indoor bonsai species available. Because it responds well to pruning, it quickly develops dense branching and refined twig structure.
In addition, its naturally small leaves make it particularly well suited to bonsai cultivation. Unlike some species, it adapts well to indoor environments and thrives in bright conditions.
As a result, beginners often find it easy to care for. However, experienced enthusiasts also appreciate its refinement and long-term development potential.

The Chinese Sweet Plum (Sageretia theezans) is a pretty indoor bonsai which has great character at an early age due to the flaky bark revealing tones of red/tan. The stunning foliage has hints of rusty red turning to glossy green. Small white flowers give rise to tiny plum-shaped fruits. A really pretty bonsai and great for beginners.
