A Beautifully Styled Snowrose Bonsai
This marvellous 8-year-old Serissa Flowering Bonsai (Serissa foetida) is a beautifully balanced little tree with superb structure, attractive creamy bark and a wonderfully refined canopy. Also known as the Snowrose or Tree of a Thousand Stars, Serissa is particularly loved for the masses of delicate flowers it can produce during the warmer months.
This particular bonsai has a very unique informal upright style. Its characterful trunk provides the central structure, while carefully positioned branches extend outwards to create distinct, beautifully shaped foliage pads.

Superb Trunk & Branch Structure
One of the most appealing features of this Serissa is the incredible exposed root design
The trunk rises naturally through the centre of the roots, displaying plenty of movement rather than following a rigid straight line. Its creamy, lightly textured bark contrasts beautifully against the vibrant green foliage and becomes increasingly characterful as the bonsai matures.
Branches emerge at attractive intervals along the trunk before extending gracefully outwards. The overall effect is wonderfully balanced, giving this young bonsai the appearance and proportions of a much older tree in miniature.
Bright Green Foliage & Beautiful Summer Flowers
Serissa has naturally small leaves, making it an excellent species for creating convincing miniature tree proportions.
The foliage on this particular specimen is bright, healthy and beautifully shaped. Its carefully formed pads create a full canopy while retaining enough separation to show the attractive branches beneath.
During the warmer months, another transformation can take place. Serissa produces beautiful little star-shaped flowers that appear against the green foliage, sometimes in impressive numbers.
