Marvellous 7-Year-Old Serissa Flowering Bonsai Tree | Stunning Design
A Beautifully Styled Snowrose Bonsai
This marvellous 7-year-old Serissa Flowering Bonsai (Serissa foetida) is a beautifully balanced little tree with superb structure, attractive creamy bark and a wonderfully refined canopy. Also known as the Snowrose or Tree of a Thousand Stars, Serissa is particularly loved for the masses of delicate flowers it can produce during the warmer months.
This particular bonsai has a very natural informal upright style. Its characterful trunk provides the central structure, while carefully positioned branches extend outwards to create distinct, beautifully shaped foliage pads.
This is the exact Serissa bonsai you will receive. We have individually photographed this tree so you can see its unique shape, trunk and branch structure before choosing it.
Superb Trunk & Branch Structure
One of the most appealing features of this Serissa is its wonderfully clear design.
The trunk rises naturally through the centre of the composition, displaying plenty of movement rather than following a rigid straight line. Its creamy, lightly textured bark contrasts beautifully against the vibrant green foliage and becomes increasingly characterful as the bonsai matures.
Branches emerge at attractive intervals along the trunk before extending gracefully outwards. The overall effect is wonderfully balanced, giving this young bonsai the appearance and proportions of a much older tree in miniature.
Bright Green Foliage & Beautiful Summer Flowers
Serissa has naturally small leaves, making it an excellent species for creating convincing miniature tree proportions.
The foliage on this particular specimen is bright, healthy and beautifully shaped. Its carefully formed pads create a full canopy while retaining enough separation to show the attractive branches beneath.
During the warmer months, another transformation can take place. Serissa produces beautiful little star-shaped flowers that appear against the green foliage, sometimes in impressive numbers.
This abundance of delicate blossom explains its wonderful alternative name, the Tree of a Thousand Stars. It is also commonly called the Snowrose because of its pretty flowers.
A Wonderful Indoor Flowering Bonsai
Flowering bonsai bring an additional dimension to the art of growing miniature trees. Throughout much of the year, you can enjoy the structure, foliage and character of the Serissa. Then, during its flowering period, tiny blossoms can completely change the appearance of the canopy.
The combination of creamy bark, bright foliage and delicate flowers makes Serissa foetida one of our favourite indoor bonsai varieties.
Presented in a Classic Blue Ceramic Pot
This lovely Serissa is planted in a classic blue ceramic bonsai pot with a coordinating drip tray.
The rich blue glaze contrasts beautifully with the fresh green foliage and creamy trunk, while the traditional shape of the pot complements the informal upright styling of the tree.
Add a drip tray beneath your indoor bonsai to help protect furniture and surrounding surfaces following watering.

Serissa Flowering Bonsai Care
Position
Keep your Serissa indoors in a cool, bright room with plenty of natural light. Avoid placing it immediately beside a radiator or other strong heat source.
During the warmer summer months, Serissa can also enjoy some time outdoors in a sheltered position. However, bring it back inside before temperatures begin to fall.
Watering
Check the compost regularly and water thoroughly when the surface begins to feel slightly dry.
Serissa prefers consistent moisture but does not like permanently waterlogged compost. Equally, avoid allowing the root ball to dry out completely.
Feeding
Feed regularly throughout the active growing season with a suitable bonsai fertiliser. Regular feeding supports healthy foliage, new growth and flowering.
Pruning
Serissa responds very well to pruning and can produce new growth readily during the growing season.
Trim extending shoots to preserve the defined foliage pads and maintain the attractive silhouette. Allowing selected shoots to extend temporarily can also help strengthen particular branches before trimming them back into shape.
Repotting
Repot your Serissa when the roots begin to fill the pot, usually every two to three years. Late spring and summer are generally suitable times to repot indoor bonsai.
A Delightful Tree with Year-Round Character
With its creamy textured bark, beautifully positioned branches and bright green foliage, this 7-year-old Serissa already has tremendous character. Its refined foliage pads give the tree a mature appearance, while the prospect of delicate flowers adds another beautiful feature during the warmer months.
Individually photographed and presented in a classic blue ceramic pot with matching drip tray, this delightful Snowrose bonsai is ready to become a very special addition to an indoor bonsai collection.
