The Chinese Elm is a beginner friendly bonsai and is a great tree to keep in most rooms or offices. They are easy to care for and have a hardy nature, they can actually live outdoors but they are not frost hardy. This variety displays a twisty trunk with elegant shaping and rich green serrated leaves. This 8 year old bonsai tree comes potted in a navy blue ceramic pot, supplied with a dark coloured tray. To finish the gift, we have added a “Best Mum” flora design wooden hanging tag.

Another point to add, the Chinese Elm is also known as the Ulmus parvifolia. They symbolise inner strength, intuition, wisdom and love.

The Chinese Elm (Ulmus parviflolia) makes a truly beautiful bonsai with small bright green leaves. The tree has excellent twig structure and has great character throughout, making it the perfect representation of a woodland tree. In our opinion the Chinese Elm is the most perfectly proportioned, easy to care for and adaptable tree and makes a superb bonsai; which can be grown either indoors or outdoors.
