Serissa foetida – The Enchanting “Tree of a Thousand Stars” Christmas Bonsai Starter Kit

A Beautiful, Flowering Indoor Bonsai with Festive Charm

Celebrate Christmas with one of the most captivating indoor bonsai varieties — the Serissa foetida, widely loved as the iconic Tree of a Thousand Stars. This elegant 8-year-old bonsai displays a twisty, artistic trunk, creamy textured bark and a graceful canopy of small, pointed green leaves. During mid–late summer, the tree transforms into a sparkling spectacle of delicate, star-shaped white flowers, creating its magical, “thousand stars” appearance.

Please note: This is a generic photograph. Your bonsai will be very similar in age, style and quality, with its own unique character.

Its naturally expressive trunk and soft foliage offer a delightful balance of elegance and personality, perfect for desks, windowsills or small indoor spaces.

Care Guide – How to Look After Your Serissa foetida

• Position: Indoors in bright daylight; avoid harsh, direct sun

• Watering: Keep soil damp but never wet; Serissa dislikes sitting in water

• Feeding: Apply bonsai fertiliser weekly to encourage healthy new growth and flowers

• Misting: Mist the leaves lightly a few times a week

• Pruning: Trim regularly to shape and maintain a tidy canopy

• Temperature: Keep in a warm, stable room; avoid cold draughts and frost

The Serissa thrives in warm indoor environments and is ideal for smaller homes and offices.
