Description

Flowering Crab Apple Bonsai | Malus – 15 Year Old Bonsai Tree

A Mature Flowering Crab Apple Bonsai with Striking Presence

This magnificent flowering Crab Apple bonsai (Malus) displays exceptional character and movement. At approximately 15 years old and standing around 49 cm tall, the tree shows impressive maturity and structure.

The trunk features a beautifully twisted serpentine design with strong taper and flowing movement. Multiple curves guide the eye upward through the tree, giving it a lively and expressive silhouette. Strong radiating branches extend naturally from the trunk, forming a balanced canopy that highlights the tree’s elegant structure.

The bonsai sits in a brand new circular cream ceramic bonsai pot. The sleek contemporary glaze enhances the colours of the tree beautifully. In particular, the dark glossy finish intensifies the greens of the foliage, the soft spring blossoms and the bright fruits later in the season.

One of the Most Beautiful Flowering Bonsai

Crab Apple bonsai rank among the most spectacular flowering bonsai species. In early spring, clusters of blush pink buds appear along the branches. These buds create a wonderful anticipation of the display to come.

Soon after, the buds open into delicate white flowers with elegant golden stamens. The blossoms appear across the canopy and create a truly impressive floral display. Against the fresh green leaves, the flowers look both soft and luminous.

Because of this remarkable flowering display, Crab Apple bonsai often become the centrepiece of any bonsai collection during spring.

Summer Fruits and Seasonal Beauty

After flowering, the tree may develop small ornamental red crab apples during the summer months. These cheerful fruits add another layer of beauty and character to the bonsai.

As the seasons progress, the foliage may also develop warmer tones during autumn. Consequently, the tree provides interest and colour throughout much of the year.

Symbolism of the Crab Apple Tree

Crab Apple trees traditionally symbolise love, happiness and renewal. Their blossoms often represent marriage, fertility and new beginnings.

In addition, the colourful fruits and abundant flowers reflect prosperity and the joyful cycles of nature. For this reason, many people choose a Crab Apple bonsai as a meaningful and lasting gift.
