This bonsai has immense character in the gnarly textured bark and incredible root exposure.
The impressive twisty trunk leads up to the excellently shaped foliage that allows the light to flow between the branches; the mature branches are angled in a downwards position.
The highly refined branches have created a captivating canopy of lush multi-toned green foliage on neat pads.
Comes potted in a striking forest green ceramic bonsai pot which really enhances the colouring of the leaves.

🌿 Personal opinion: This is one of those bonsai that makes you stop in your tracks and just say… wow. It’s absolutely enormous, and every inch of it has been shaped with care and vision over the past 30 years. The clean lines and tall, majestic form give it a commanding presence, while the superb ramification and neatly defined foliage pads bring a real sense of refinement and maturity.
The twisty trunk is a masterpiece in itself — full of movement, strength, and age. The bark has that gorgeous gnarly texture that only time can create, and the exposed roots are just sensational, giving it a grounded, natural power. The way the canopy is structured allows light to dance through the branches, and those downward-angled limbs give it a real elegance that balances its size perfectly.
This isn’t just a bonsai — it’s a living sculpture. It would make an incredible focal point in a home, office, or foyer. We’ve really enjoyed caring for it here at the nursery — it’s a tree that keeps on giving, and one we’ll miss having around.
