Our bonsai nursery is flourishing with vibrancy!

Hello everyone, Holly from Bonsai Direct here 👋

I just had to share a little update from the nursery because it’s been such a busy and exciting few weeks. We’ve recently added some stunning new bonsai species to our website — and they’ve been selling almost as quickly as we can list them!

Our team has been working tirelessly behind the scenes, meticulously growing, shaping, and styling each tree. It’s a real labour of love, and seeing them find homes so quickly makes it all worth it.

Mediterranean Favourites 🌞🍊

It’s been particularly lovely having more Mediterranean bonsai species here on the nursery. Their bright fruits and colourful blossoms bring so much vibrancy, and they really do make you feel like you’re walking through a sun-drenched orchard.

Bougainvillea Bonsai 🌺

A real showstopper! With their incredible pink and purple bracts, Bougainvillea bonsai look like they’ve been dipped in summer sunshine. They thrive in warmth and light, and we’ve styled them to really show off those cascading blooms. Fun fact, the flowers on this bonsai are actually inside the pink and purple bracts!

Cuphea

These little charmers are proving to be a very well loved little bonsai because of their purple flowers. Cuphea have been a joy to work on — their pretty flowers add such character, and the fine branching makes them perfect for styling. They are so easy to grow from your own cuttings too!

Orange Bonsai Tree in Green Pot (Citrus kinzu) - Long Fruiting Period

Kinzu Orange & Lemon Bonsai 🍊🍋

Our fruiting citrus bonsai have been so popular! The Kinzu Orange produces tiny, bright fruits that look like miniature decorations, while the lemon bonsai offers glossy leaves and zesty little lemons. They’ve been styled to balance fruiting branches with fresh foliage, making them both ornamental and full of personality.

Pyracantha Bonsai 🔥

Also known as Firethorn, Pyracantha are fabulous for their fiery berries, which appear in late summer and autumn. They bring a real splash of colour to the nursery. We’ve shaped them with open canopies so the berries can really shine against the foliage.

Olive Bonsai 🌿

Of course, no Mediterranean collection would be complete without the Olive bonsai. With their silver-green leaves and gnarled trunks, they instantly bring a touch of rustic charm. They’ve been especially rewarding to style, and I love how they radiate both strength and elegance.

Behind the Scenes 👩‍🌾

It takes years of patient growing and careful training to bring these bonsai to the point where they’re ready for someone’s home. My team here at the nursery have been meticulous — from refining the branch structure to shaping the canopies — so that each tree tells its own story.

That’s why it’s been such a joy to see them sell so quickly. Every time I walk past an empty bench where a row of Bougainvillea or citrus once sat, I can’t help but smile knowing they’re being enjoyed in their new homes.

Looking Ahead 🌱

We’ll continue working on more Mediterranean and flowering bonsai, and I promise there will be more beautiful specimens available soon. The ones we do have ready might not stay in stock for long, in fact a lot of them have already sold. So, if you’ve been dreaming of a bright, fruiting, or flowering bonsai for your space, keep an eye on our Premium Indoor Bonsai and Outdoor Bonsai collections.

Thank you, as always, for supporting our nursery and sharing in this passion for bonsai. It really is such a privilege to grow and care for these trees before they make their way to you.
