Meet the Team – Amy

Hi, I’m Amy and I have been working for Bonsai Direct for just over a year! I work with a great team of people, and four legged fluffy friends (the cats), and we are always enthusiastic about growing and caring for the Bonsai trees. I particularly enjoy learning to shape the trees to create that S-shaped trunk and distinct pads of foliage that they are typically known for. The process of wiring the trunk and branches in order to create this shape is a gradual practice, but the results are always impressive.

I love learning about all the different species of Bonsai and how to care for them. My personal favourite is the Roseapple (also known as Myrtle). I like this species as it is a very pretty and dainty tree. It shows off elegant leaves and white flowers in the Summertime. The S-shaped Roseapple is also very sweet and is a brilliant tree for beginners. The Roseapple symbolises love, good fortune and joyful living- what more could you want?
