The Elm grows dark pink to red flowers that hang in tassels, appearing between February and March. Once they have been pollinated by the wind, the flowers turn into tiny winged fruits, known as samaras.
Elm wood was always the preferred choice of wood. They were dedicated to Morpheus, the god of sleep.
