The countdown to Christmas is on!
Christmas is quickly creeping up on us and as we countdown to the big day, we get lots of reoccurring questions. This blog should answer a large amount of these FAQs whilst giving you some lovely gift ideas and information you perhaps hadn’t thought of.
Let’s start with our last order dates
Order MUST be placed by 3pm on Monday the 23rd of December for delivery before Christmas, this is for delivery within mainland UK. We are delivering 7 days a week therefore you can choose any date for delivery between now and Christmas Eve. Orders for “Highlands & Islands” must be placed by 3pm on Thursday the 19th for delivery before Christmas.

This way, we ensure that we are only recommending gifts that you can actually purchase whilst being appropriate for your recipient. FAQs
How much is delivery?
Next working day is FREE to most of the UK! Weekend and Premium (Before 1pm) services are charged at £8.99. “Highlands & Islands delivery is £12.99.
How long can the bonsai stay in the box?
You can keep the bonsai in the box for a maximum of 5 days. Do not keep it anywhere too warm or very cold.
What time will my delivery be?
We use DPD to deliver our bonsai and accessory orders over 2KG. DPD will send you a 1-hour time slot on the morning of your delivery. Accessory orders under 2KG are shipped with Royal Mail. Orders over £10 are tracked and should receive notifications from Royal Mail.
What if I’m not going to be home?
When ordering you can add delivery instructions into your “order notes. You can also set a safe place through the dispatch notification on the morning of your delivery. There are other options such as changing the address and allocating a neighbour too.
Can it be delivered in plain packaging?
Most of our bonsai (excluding a number of broom bonsai orders) are packaged in boxes which make the contents of the box very obvious. This isn’t to spoil any surprise but during trials we found that couriers take more care when they know what is in the parcel.
I forgot to add something to my order but it hasn’t been shipped. Can I add it on?
Yes! If your order hasn’t been shipped you can add any forgotten items, we can take payment over the phone or via invoice. These items will not be added until payment is complete.
How do I care for the gift in the meantime?
If you have taken delivery of your bonsai more than 5 days before gifting, you will need to care for it.
Indoor bonsai need to be placed in a room with good daylight, a stable temperature and their soil must kept just damp at all times. Avoid direct sunlight, heat sources (like radiators) and drafts.
Outdoor bonsai can be placed somewhere slightly sheltered outdoors to protect them from extreme weather. Make sure their soil doesn’t dry out.
