• Pruning: For any major pruning, please prune in early spring before buds open. During the growing season please keep the tips in check to maintain the shape.
• Wiring: Wire carefully to avoid scarring bark, use guy wires if needed. Check wire weekly to ensure no scars. This specific bonsai has not been wired. All its styling has been achieved by hand styling alone.
• Repotting: Repot/root prune every 2-3 years before the buds swell. Usually this is during late February or early March once the worst of the winter weather has past.
• Placement: Grow outdoors year-round. Provide a semi-shaded, sheltered position. Protect from harsh freezes in winter. This bonsai has been grown outside all year round. You just might need to protect from long periods of snow or freezing as this can result in dehydration which is surprising.
