This remarkable bonsai is a highlight from our premium collection, featuring cream-coloured bark and glossy green leaves. Throughout the summer small clusters of 2-3 flowers in ice-white are prettily displayed. At 10 years old, this bonsai showcases an impressive design, with its trunk elegantly curving in graceful S-shapes and a textured surface. The branches are artfully arranged in the literati style.
Understanding Literati Style
Literati bonsai (Bunjin-gi) is characterised by a tall, slender trunk and minimal foliage, creating a refined and minimalist appearance. The trunk often has dramatic twists and turns, emphasising simplicity and the natural beauty of the tree. This style draws inspiration from traditional Chinese and Japanese ink paintings.
