Why Is My Order Being Delivered Early?
Why Is My Order Being Delivered Early?
If you have chosen a Sunday or Monday delivery, you may receive a notification from DPD offering an earlier date. In some cases, they may even attempt to deliver a day ahead of your selected date.
This happens because DPD occasionally experiences higher parcel volumes, particularly after busy periods. To keep deliveries running smoothly, they sometimes use weekends to deliver parcels earlier than planned. As a result, some customers are offered an earlier slot.
You’re Always in Control
If this suits you, there’s nothing you need to do. Simply accept the new date and enjoy your bonsai sooner.
However, if you won’t be home or you’d prefer to receive your order on your original delivery date, you can easily change it using the DPD notification. The process only takes a few moments and allows you to select a more convenient date.
How to Change Your Delivery Date

- Open the delivery notification you received from DPD.
- Click ‘Show My Options’.
- Select ‘Change This Delivery’.
- Click ‘Change The Delivery Day’.
- Choose your original date (or another available date that suits you).
- Confirm your selection.
DPD will then update your delivery schedule.

Why We Mention Early Delivery
At Bonsai Direct, we carefully schedule every dispatch to arrive on the date you request. Occasionally, however, DPD may bring your parcel forward as part of their own planning.
Because every bonsai is a living tree, we want you to receive it when you’re available to welcome it into its new home. If DPD offers an earlier date that isn’t convenient, we recommend changing the date through their app or delivery notification to ensure your bonsai arrives at the best possible time.
